Before submitting your application read the game's premise and familiarise yourself with the basic history. You don't need to have read all the books, but make sure that whatever you put in fits in with the greater world.
002. Canon
Keep all characters true to canon. It is assumed that they will grow and change as the events of the millennium come to pass (or not!). However a radical change in personality is not likely without events to prompt it, so make sure that you take into account the known personality of your character. This includes known appearances, allegiances and sexualities.
003. Shipping
Ships are welcome, of course, but there are certain things to remember: (i) All soulmate couples are not to be broken up. These couples are sacrosanct. (ii) Couples that include people without soulmates can be played with however you like as long as you provide good reasons for any breakups or changes in partnership. (iii) This is primarily a plot-based RPG. While ships are fun, and important, don't let shipping get in the way of a good plot
004. Age
While this is not a specifically mature game, it is expected that at some point players may want to explore more mature themes with their adult characters. In order to create an open and creative atmosphere for this all players must be 18 or older to join.
005. Drama
(i) IC: The actions, thoughts and motives of the characters may or may not reflect those of the players. If someone else's character hates yours that is probably for good reason. Don't take it personally. (ii) OOC: Any OOC drama should be kept out of the community. If a player has a problem they don't think they can solve themselves, feel free to contact a moderator who will help in any way they can.
006. Themes
Most adult themes such as sexual activity, homosexuality, murder, alcohol or drug use, etc, are welcome to be explored, as long as they conform to the above stated rules on character integrity.
The one stated exception is incest, which is not welcome at all, in any form, in this game.
Posting
007. Character journals
Every character is to have a journal set up for themselves. While these are not linked, and as such cannot be replied to by other characters, they may be used as a normal journal for the character.
(i) Contact by other players can be made by a once a week post in the character's journal that will function as a phone, email and txt message inbox. If you're not sure how this is to be done, check one of the existing character's and how they have it set up.
008. Posting requirements
Each character is expected to post at least once a week in either their journal or the RPG community. In addition, activity in an RP thread in the main community is expected once every two weeks.
Three warnings will be given before the player is removed for inactivity.
(i). Hiatus' of up to a month's duration are available simply by posting in the OOC community and commenting as such. Once the hiatus is up, if no further communication is received, normal activity checks will resume.
009. Icons
A reasonable amount of relatively clear icons is required for each characters. A minimum of 5 is acceptable.
010. Tags
Please tag all posts with the character's full first and last name.
011. Plots
While plots are generally the choice of the player, please run all large changes by the moderator, in case it interferes with anything else planned. This includes, but is not limited to, deaths, pregnancies, awesome new powers, changes or additions to existing canon.
