Instead of waiting around for Evan, Rodolphus had left the boy detailed instructions. They were cursed to not reveal their truth for anyone else's eyes, and Rodolphus wasn't concerned. He wasn't terribly well versed in Charms, but he was magnificent with hexes and curses. Rodolphus was selfish. He considered waiting for Bellatrix, but decided against it. She would get to the cottage when she was ready, and so would Lucius and Evan. However, Rodolphus for one, did not wish to late. He knew both how cruel and ruthless the Dark Lord could be, even to his followers. Although Rodolphus was not yet marked, he doubted that the Dark Lord would spare him punishment for failing. The last person Rodolphus ever wanted punishment from was the Dark Lord.
Rodolphus left his common room around nine. Without saying goodbye to any of his fellows, he followed the intricate trail to the cottage in Hogsmeade. It wasn't terribly easy to sneak around in a castle crawling with prefects. He arrived at the cottage without anyone else present. Figuring it would be the same as last time, Rodolphus picked the seat closest to the fire. Even seeing his face admits the fire was enough. It was breathtaking and amazing. Rodolphus wasn't sure what he would do it the Dark Lord waved them off today. He needed this. More than anyone.
