Hufflepuffs!
Who: OPEN to Glee, Amos, and any other Hufflepuffs
When: After classes
Where: Common Room
What: Dealing with the news
Rating: TBD
Glee had come straight back from classes and changed out of her robes. She had changed into a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. While she didn’t own a lot of muggle clothes, she’d stolen some clothes from a muggleborn she’d been dating over the summer. The relationship hadn’t worked out – her parents had caught her sneaking out and forced her to break ties with the boy. But she still had the clothes, and they were the most comfy pieces of apparel in her trunk.
She walked down to the common room. The atmosphere was different than its normal, warm energy. People were quieter, moving through quickly to get to their rooms. A few people were sitting in small groups whispering to each other. Glee walked over to a couch and grabbed a pillow. She curled her knees up and hugged the pillow to her chest.
She didn’t want to drink anymore. That would have been her normal response to a bad situation, but with a few hangovers under her belt so early in the year, she couldn’t stand the thought of being drunk. Plus, something felt wrong about dulling her senses. She thought maybe she should feel bad at the moment. The memory of the dead wizards deserved more respect than her drinking to forget them.
The last murders hadn’t seemed so close. It had been sad and sickening, but they’d been far away. These had been so close. She’d been in Hogsmeade at the time. What if she had seen the killer? What if she had seen the victims? What if it had been random strangers that were killed? What if it were one of her friends?
She thought about all her friends that had been in Hogsmeade that day, trying to figure out which ones were muggleborn. It made her head spin. A few tears escaped from her eyes and rolled down her cheek. Glee lets out a sigh.
