House was not a jungle cat, clearly, but he was by far the largest cat in all of Slytherin. He was a special breed, one that had evolved from the ocelot, and he often thought he was a whole lot bigger than he actually was. For this reason, he sometimes felt like stalking prey. And when first years decided to actually leave him alone, he had to extend his search to those who wouldn't pay much attention to a black cat hunting something.
Settling into the common room, his enormous body was covering a nice part of the back of a couch. But he didn't care as Regulus Black decided to join him. Instead, he moved to a better spot to watch him, his bright greenish eyes as enticing as a cobra's stare. He had a hard time keeping his claws to himself, so Cameron had warned all of his friends and as much of Slytherin as possible. Even so, people still made the mistake of trying to give House a scratch behind the ear.
He dug his claws into the fabric and kneaded it, preparing it for more attention as he swished his tail back and forth. He was daring Regulus. Quite blatantly.
