Regulus was cold, wet, shivering, and had no clue where he was. It was like when the "library had been moved" when he was under the influence of billywigs, only much, much worse. The moment Quidditch practice had been canceled due to the storm, Regulus had taken off back into the castle. He'd hoped he'd meet Florean on the way to the library, but then everything went dark and Apollo had started freaking out. He might, if he could find somebody, ask what was going on, but he hadn't found anyone yet. What's more, he'd left his journal under his pillow, so he couldn't even write to ask anyone if they knew what was going on. He couldn't even accio his journal to him.
At least Regulus had the common sense to stick to the wall, trailing his fingers along the stones as he walked. Whenever there was a gap, he stopped and waited for the little glow the lightening was letting through the windows. It was weird how foreign the school looked in the dark. It was almost like it wasn't the same building at all, but something out of a horror novel. Was the rest of the team having this much trouble getting around? Regulus wished he'd at least waited to tell Meg he was meeting a friend in the library.
Lightening flashed through the windows again, and Reg's cat stopped in front of him as the thunder crashed. "Apollo!" he braced himself against a door handle and tried not to trip over his pet. "It's okay, I promise. It's okay." If he'd gone to the dungeons like he was supposed to, maybe Apollo wouldn't be so scared now. There weren't any windows there, and they could never hear the storm under the lake. But he didn't want to attempt to go back down any of the stairs. Somehow that seemed much more dangerous than trying to simply find the library. Besides, maybe Florean had gotten here before everything went dark. He just wished he could get some light from his wand.
