Theo broke character and giggled a bit at his overdramatic jump before clearing her throat and recovering her “manly” self. She frowned ridiculously as he identified her without much trouble, her lip sticking out playfully as he turned to face her before a bright smile replaced it. “Surprise! I bet you had no idea it was me. No. Idea,” she said, bouncing a little with the excitement that filled the room.
“Fiery,” she said, grinned. “Not that I know of, but she might have a running list to send out tomorrow. How is your evening, my bearded beau?” She gave him a thoughtful look before glancing around. After a few moments, she returned her eyes to him and grinned with a bit of mischief. “Come on, kitten,” she said, conspiratorially. “We’re escaping.” She laced the fingers of one hand through his and moved past him, pulling him along after her. She wove them through the school carefully, leading him outside into the night. “We've got to get away before they seeeeeee us!" she said, grinning, then took off in a run with his hand still locked in hers.
