Truthfully, the only thing better than being able to go without clothes was the opportunity to wear ridiculous outfits. As a result, Halloween was Theo’s favourite holiday. As usual, she hadn’t spent a great deal of money on her costume, given both that she loathed shopping and frankly didn’t see the point in breaking her bank simply for a costume. She’d had the orange dress she wore for a few years, taking a few moments to amplify the colour, and the shoes were a frequent staple of her wardrobe anyway. She’d bought the wings in Hogsmeade, but they were only a few inches across originally. After a few enlarging charms and a mix of the heatless flame spells she’d been told about, they’d ended up looking better than she could’ve ever imagined. A few tons of glitter and she was ready to party.
She’d been positively giddy at the sight of Paulie in his costume, nearly mistaking him for Dumbledore at first glance. She loved the fact that they could be so silly and have so much fun with something that so many of their schoolmates were taking so seriously. She’d been having an extraordinary time dancing with some of the others in the room before realizing with a bit of curiosity that Paulie had gone off somewhere. A little confused, she’d separated from the group she’d been chatting with and went in search of her bearded date.
After a few moments of searching, she spotted him and crept behind him, lifting onto her toes and covering his eyes with her sparkling hands, lowering her voice in a comical attempt to disguise her identity. “Guess whooo.”
