Teddy's chair in his office was really not that comfortable for sleeping in. He hadn't intended to actually fall asleep in his office, but after coming back to the school last night after he heard about the Nash girl, he ended up conking out at his desk sometime around 3:30 am. It was only years of habit that woke him again at 6:30. After splashing some water on his face, he'd floo-called home to say good morning to Mia and ask his parents if they could watch her for the day, or call a sitter if they couldn't, and he'd be home before dinner, hopefully. And once again, he was thankful that his parents lived nearby enough to watch Mia for him when he had to work, and was also once again consumed with that deep-rooted misery that stemmed from the fact that Mia's mother should be here to help raise their daughter, but she wasn't, and it killed him that she was gone.
After promising Mia that he would definitely be home to have dinner with her, Teddy tried to stretch the crick out of his back and neck, then grabbed his favourite mug and made his way to the staff lounge for some coffee. He was definitely going to need it if he was going to survive today on only three hours of sleep at his desk. The lounge was empty, which wasn't altogether surprising to Teddy. It was rather early, and everyone'd probably had as late a night as he did. He started up the coffee maker, figuring that he definitely wasn't going to be the only one needing some this morning. As he waited for it to brew, he leaned against the counter and closed his eyes, rubbing them with the heels of his hands. God was he tired.
