It wasn't that Cassandra didn't like being home, she just didn't enjoy her home. The nanny was fantastic, always had been, but her father and brother left something to desire. The lack of attention, love, or sheer care had always gotten to Cassandra. Christmas holidays weren't too bad; her father was usually so invested in business deals he forgot his hatred for Cassandra. He smiled, gave her presents, and acted like a real father, out of sheer stress. Summers were what bothered her. Always a lull in business, Rufus became agitated and yelled over most anything. By the time this summer rolled around, Cassandra had learned her lesson. She'd arranged to visit relatives in France for most of the summer. They weren't relatives Cassandra was particularly close to, but they were someone other than her father. Therefore, while Cassandra's summer had not been amazing, she was content with how it went.
Returning to Hogwarts every school year had always been a highlight. She enjoyed the company of her peers, her friends, and the boys. Cassandra had spared no efforts in greeting all her friends and equals. She was a social creature, most happy when surrounded by others. When Cassandra was at Hogwarts, she was happy. After spending time organizing and reorganizing her belongings, she decided it was high time to make it to the common room. She left word with Evan, one of her favourite boys. There was no denying the fact Cassandra was excited to see him, and to flirt with him.
Rounding into the common room, Cassandra walked with both pride and contentment. A true smile made her face glow, and she searched the room for Evan. He wasn't hard to find. Nodding at a few people on the way, Cassandra reached out to put her hand on his shoulder. "Afternoon, Evan," she greeted in a cheerful voice. Continuing with the path, Cassandra moved to sit in the chair across from him. "Glad to be back?"
