Who: Rodolphus Lestrange
What: Murder in the dormitory
Where: Slytherin
When: After classes
Summary: Rodolphus kills Cameron's cat, House. He then uses Imperius and makes a house elf put the dead body on Clara's bed while he is at dinner. AKA, taking blame off him. He leaves a note & blood.
Although the meeting with the Dark Lord had not been what Rodolphus was expecting, he was elated. Being around him was a high like no other. It was better than almost everything Rodolphus had ever experienced. Even when he was being tortured beyond belief, beyond any pain that the boy could have ever imagined. Beyond any pain that anyone could have ever imagined. Rodolphus had no idea how many times the Dark Lord had preformed that curse, but it must have been too many times to remember. The sheer power emitted from his wand proved it. Without even a single breath, the Dark Lord could force the worst pain possible upon anyone.
However, Rodolphus was certain that killing was still better. In the future, he hoped to kill for the Dark Lord. That would be an experience unlike any other. He could hardly wait until the day he was ordered to kill for the Dark Lord. Rodolphus would do it diligently and happily. It was with these thoughts he returned to Slytherin after classes. Though he was lost in pleasant thought, he wasn't immune to the annoying waves, nods, and yells from his housemates. Not yet willing to ostracize himself, Rodolphus simply grimaced and nodded back, neither smiling nor frowning, just acknowledging those who had acknowledged him. As Rodolphus took the stairs to his dorm, he felt a presence behind him. There was no one following him, but there was something there.
Once Rodolphus got into his room, he realized it was a cat. Not just any cat, it was Kerrigan's annoying as fuck cat. "Get!" Rodolphus hissed at the cat. Instead of running away, the cat merely hissed back. Narrowing his eyes, Rodolphus swatted at it. Again, the cat swatted back. "You stupid fuck," Rodolphus growled. As he made a move to smack the cat, it bolted to the left. Damn cats and their agility. Out of nowhere, Rodolphus heard a growl. "House! Get out!" Rodolphus nearly shouted. Great, just fucking wonderful, he was losing his temper over a cat. A strange and creepy cat no less, but still a cat. Just when Rodolphus was ready to calm down, the cat jumped off a ledge and sat in front of him. Feeling his temper rise, Rodolphus raised his wand. The cat merely stared at him.
"Avada kedavra," Rodolphus growled without really realizing what he was doing. It came out without a plan, without thought, but with meaning. Rodolphus had always hated the cat. Now he was just ridding himself of that annoyance. With a slight smile, Rodolphus watched as the cat stiffened and fell over. "No more stalking Lestrange for you," he whispered. He might worry later about how easy the curse rolled off his tongue, but for now Rodolphus had a dead cat to worry about. He couldn’t remember Kerrigan’s schedule for the life of him, but Cameron would be right pissed when he found out. Out of the corner of his eye, Rodolphus saw something move.
Wand still in the air, Rodolphus swung his body towards it. In front of him stood a terrified House Elf. In an instant, Rodolphus had a thought. An incredibly intelligent and magnificent thought. "Imperio!" he cried. At once, Rodolphus knew it had worked. He'd never used the spell before, but it worked. The elf’s eyes went blank, and Rodolphus could fell himself in control. Stay, he thought. Walking to his dresser, the elf stood. He grabbed a sheet and wrapped the dead cat in it. Grabbing a piece of paper and pen, Rodolphus set to work writing a letter. He charmed the pen to write for itself, so it didn't look like his writing.'Clara Avery,With another charm, Rodolphus attached the letter to the cat. It was dead, it wasn't like the cat could feel a pin. Turning to the elf, Rodolphus put the cat’s body on the ground. Keep this hidden. When I go for dinner, wait twenty minutes. Then take this cat and put it, without the sheet, on the bed of Clara Avery. Make it bloody. The elf nodded, as if it understood. With a final glance at his room, Rodolphus left. Dinner would be soon, and Clara’s screams would come not long after that. With a smug smile, Rodolphus went into the common room.
Next time you use your quill, think twice before stepping out against those of us with power and skill you have not. If you’re not careful, this will be you. Or worse. This is your last and only warning. Have a nice day.'
