Harry and Ron did mean well. Harry, of course, tended to be rather oblivious to certain things though - mostly girls but Hermione knew that. Hermione was his go-to person for things of that variety though right now Harry couldn't foresee a time in the future when he'd be able to worry about such things again. Trying his best not to get down about it right now though, after all this was Hermione's birthday dinner, he smiled. "You're welcome" he offered, knowing it was entirely lame but it was all he had to offer.
Sitting back in his chair, he brought a hand up to flatten his hair as it was sticking out due to his nap. Watching Ron for a moment, he turned his attention back to Hermione as she updated him on how her day went. "Really? That's great" Harry said with a smile, "Thanks Hermione" he added, feeling guilty again that she had been the one to do it while he had done -- nothing. As usual. Merlin's bloody beard, this was frustrating as hell. "So, when are we going to start the potion?" he asked, itching to actually do something. It was one thing to sit around waiting to do what they needed to do but with the added weight of the fact that not only was Sirius alive somewhere but so were his parents and he couldn't see them was killing him.
