Ron looked up at Hermione with a surprised look on his face. Was he being yelled at for thinking the food was ruined? He decided to drop it before the conversation lead into a fight, however.
He was surprised Hermione was so keen on the idea of sugar quills and smiled at her reaction. "You're welcome," he said. "I've been saving them for your birthday. Sorry I didn't give one to you sooner." Because it looked like she might have needed it. "I think I have a couple of chocolate frogs left too, but that's it as far as sweets go." He put his own sugar quill in his mouth and started to suck on it thoughtfully.
Ron looked up from the beans to see Harry standing there. "Hey Harry," he greeted him. "I'm making beans and bacon. I've made enough for all of us. Sit down."
