Who: Dante & Lucrezia What: Getting to know each other When: Friday night Where: Someplace neutral Rating: PG - PG-13? Status: In progress
Lucrezia--who still could not get used to thinking of herself by that name even though she'd answered to it every day at work for the past several weeks--had been in a humbug of a mood since Thanksgiving, and it just kept getting better. One of her Italian employers was missing, as was one of her Russian neighbors, and on top of that, she'd finally met her father's extended family after a lifetime of wondering. Someone had compared the revelation of her newfound famiglia to a Christmas miriacle straight out of a musical, and yet Lulu was still having trouble counting her blessings, and not looking the proverbial gift horse in the mouth.
No one outside of the Morelli family knew she was Lucia's cousin, except for those few other guests that might as well have been family. Or at least, Lucrezia hoped that no one else knew, because she wasn't ready to deal with the potentially volatile reaction of the Russian side of her family, even as little as shespoke to them nowadays. So she had taken to testing out the waters, speaking to her various and sundry new cousins one on one, in the hope that she might get to know them, as well as their expectations of her as a Valentino, an Italian, and an honorary Morelli. So far, there was much that had been left unsaid.
She didn't really know what to expect of her dinner date with Dante, if she expected anything at all, but she was still willing to give it a chance. Maybe she would connect with these alleged roots of hers...but at the very least she hoped to take her mind off of things...or at least give herself something constructive to think about.
