The Common Room was dimly lit. It was a little bit dark outside, a little past dusk, and Athena was curled in a chair in the Slytherin Common Room. Her feet were tucked well into the cushions, a book propped up on her lap. She had been reading the Guide to Transfiguration book for about an hour and it was starting to bore her a little. However, it was better than her detention had been. It had started today and it had been hell in a handbasket, especially in the company of the Gryffindor mischief maker. The blonde ran her fingers through her hair, reminding herself that she would not dwell on it as much as she would have preferred to.
Flipping through a couple of pages to the next chapter, she read diligently. She was determined to be ready for her examinations in the end of the year and even if it meant she spent all of her extra time reading her books, then that was what it would come down to. She had been so engrossed in her books that she failed to hear someone enter the Common Room and begin to approach her. Normally, she would have been full aware, but her concentration was not on her surroundings at that moment in time.
