GAME INFO
PREMISE/BACKSTORY WELCOME to Beacon Hills! On the surface this might look like any other town, but the truth is there's all kinds of strange occurrences here. If you happen to be a new arrival there are two hotels in town. One is owned by local resident Chris Argent and he welcomes anyone and everyone as long as they follow his one rule....Don't harm the innocent. The second hotel is owned by the town and only humans are welcome. New residents are required to live in one of these two hotels for at least two weeks and then they will be allowed to move out and makes lives for themselves.

TEEN WOLF BACKSTORYMonroe got what she wanted; there was a war between the supernatural and a faction of the human citizens. Fortunately, the McCall pack and his allies won and Beacon is now a safe haven for supernatural beings. Though there are still some humans residents that don't trust these monsters. Monroe was killed by one of her own after sacrificing too many innocent lives in her desperation to win. It's now 2 years after the final battle and Beacon is well on it's way to becoming a thriving town once again.

OOC: [info]thebeaconmod is a multi-fandom game set in the fictional town of Beacon Hills from the TV Show Teen Wolf. The current canon point is 3 years post season 6 of the television series. Game Open October 15 or with ten 20 Apps!

RULES BASICS As mods, we wanted to keep the rules here fairly simple. This game is a Multi-Fandom game, meaning we will accept any and all characters from supernatural fandoms unless their creators have expressed a desire for them to be excluded from roleplay or fanfiction. However, as the mods, we do have the right to deny certain fandoms if we feel that do not fit the plot of this game. We will accept original characters as long as they are based within a supernatural fandom. In order to apply as an original character write out your own history for the character and link it with your app. Please be as detailed as possible.

We do ask that all of our players follow the basic rules of rp etiquette in this game. Don't cross the IC/OOC line! Don't god mod! As long as you respect your fellow players and the mod team you should be just fine. If something should happen between two players or even a group of players the players should attempt to resolve it themselves, but if for some reason a mediator is needed feel free to contact the mods at that point.

CHARACTER LIMITS & ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS

*All players in this game will be allowed 5 characters from the fandoms of their choice to start with; once the player has passed two full months of activity they may bring in an additional 5 characters allowing for a total cap of 10. In addition, no player may play two characters that are related, dating/have dated/are married, or are best friends. Also, we ask that each player only play up to 3 main characters in any given fandom. The only exception to this rule is if you choose to play an original character within a fandom; your original character doesn't count on this cap, meaning in the fandom you choose to play the original character you would still be allowed 3 canon characters. Lastly, if you lose a character due to inactivity you have to pass activity for 2 consecutive months before bringing in additional characters.

Lastly, we ask that players reach out to any current castmates of their chosen character prior to applying; something simple such as a dropbox comment will do. This is to begin communication about any potential plot or lines that they may have had in mind. This is especially important for Original characters; if you wish them to have connections with canon characters please plot that out beforehand, so the players of the canon characters can have an idea of how things should go. If the player(s) haven't gotten back to you within 72 hours feel free to contact the mods to assist you in reaching them. Also please keep in mind that just because a relationship is canon doesn't mean that the line HAS to exist in this game. This is why we encourage communication beforehand.

We ask for any two forms of activity every month, these can be a net post with at least 3 comments or a scene with at least 5 replies per character. If you're relying on 2 nets for your ac then one of them must be open (unfiltered) to the entire community in order for it to count. Activity is due on the last day of the month and any player/character not passing will be removed.

JOINING THE GAME We wanted to make joining the game as easy as possible. So, all we require is one example as the first character a player applies for. Once we get a sense of your writing style with that first character additional characters will not require an example.

PREMISE
For years, the TARDIS traveled throughout time with her Doctor. Together, they visited many important events in time, met people and creatures from all walks of life, and had adventures worth telling stories about. And though the face of her Doctor changed from time to time, he was still hers, and she was happy to travel throughout space and time.

And then, one day, her Doctor was gone. How he disappeared, she did not know. He just vanished. Distraught, the TARDIS began to travel through space and time, searching for him. But no matter how hard she looked, she could not find him. So, she decided to use her powers in different ways. She began to pull people inside of her, hoping that one of them might be her Doctor.

But none of them were her Doctor. In fact, she began to pull people from different universes, universes with no Doctor at all. And the people that she has pulled that know the Doctor, none of them seem to know her Doctor. Even the ones that are the Doctor themselves. None of them are her.

So the TARDIS travels, to different times, universes, and worlds, searching for her Doctor. The people that she pulls from other universes are free to roam the TARDIS as they please, and explore these new times and universes, and face the challenges that come with them.

Will the TARDIS ever find what she is looking for? Will the people she's taken ever find their way home?

Through the course of gameplay the characters will come to realize their selection for this involuntary experiment isn’t random at all. Each and every one of them has something in common - a secret they've been keeping their whole lives. Perhaps there will be comfort to be found in this new camaraderie. Our advice? Take it whenever, and wherever, you can.

Wounds that are picked at will never scab. Come to the Retreat, where we know the trauma and hurt sown by two generations of Wizarding Wars, and where we will help you find the understanding to try to heal.

Just mind the hands that won't let those wounds clot.


Done and Dusted is an AU Harry Potter game set in 2002, with its canon point divergence being post-HBP. So while the war ended and Harry did his hero thing, it didn't necessarily have such a neat and happy ending. We all know that major events such as this has an effect on people in both positive and negative ways. This game's intention is to explore the more messy and unpretty effects and how it affects both the characters and those around them. Done and Dusted is centered around a dark plot and will have dark themes.

Patients will not be able to use magic on the Retreat premises, and have no idea that the person in charge has every intention of ensuring mental wellness won't be achieved.

PREMISE
The Thousand Kingdoms has stood on the traditions of their legends for ages. Each sovereignty held their own weight and place in the structure of society leaving very little in the ways of increasing one's status. If there was ever a change to come, it would be slow. That was until the paths to the Outlands opened.

The Marchen Academy was established between the fairies of the Outlands and those in the Thousand Kingdoms, in an attempt to help integrate the new worlds into society and foster goodwill and close bonds between the youth of neighbouring kingdoms. Alliances are to be created and trade to grow so that each can bring prosperity to the lands around them and a better world for their children to grow up in.

Some see this as an opportunity. Some see this as a threat.

HP AU: Done and Dusted - Gauging Interest [Feb. 26th, 2022|02:17 pm]

Putting out a feeler to gauge interest in a post HBP Harry Potter AU game set a few years after Voldemort is killed. The game is based off a game called Done and Dusted which was run on Greatest Journal in 2006-2007. The idea is that the Battle of Hogwarts still happened, Voldemort still was killed, but we want to be able to say all of the unnecessary character deaths from book 7 didn’t have to happen!

We’re going to be very vague as far as what happened in Harry’s 7th year other than that there was a final attack on Hogwarts in Harry’s seventh year and he did kill Voldemort. But we leave it in shades of gray so that you can develop your character through this time as you see fit!

The game is based on the premise of a mental institution dressed up as a “retreat” for patients to come and deal with problems caused by the war. People are coming to terms with their emotions, and coming to terms with former friends and enemies. Call it an emotional rollercoaster of character development. Patients at the retreat will either willingly admit themselves (good guys), be committed, or be incentivized to get time knocked off their sentence if they spend a term at the institution (hello, Death Eaters!). They will be required to attend weekly therapy sessions with the on-premise counselors while being kept an eye on under the careful eye (and hidden cameras!) of the director of the facility and the Aurors she has employed to keep things in order.

Patients will be restricted from using magic in the form of casting spells while at the retreat, but creatures such as Werewolves will still undergo the magical changes that their condition demands they do (and yes, magical creatures are welcome!). Patients will also find that their emotions are heightened while on retreat grounds, feeling things much more intensely than they would normally.

We’re going to host the game in a journal forum setting, either in InsaneJournal or Dreamwidth. The patients will be given journals that have been charmed so that they can communicate with other patients and staff through them (wizarding social media!). In game days will span over the course of a few to several real life days, depending on if there are events happening in game and how much time we feel an in game day needs. There will be official day changes posted in game so everyone knows what day we’re on, and what’s going on.

If we can get interest from a few people we’re going to move forward in creating the platform and get moving! We already have the plot foundations worked out and it won’t take too long to get up and going if we are able to pique some interest. *Done and Dusted is a darker-themed game that will have elements of trauma (mental and physical) and other adult themes. We will use cuts and tags to properly ensure content warning but we want to be up front about the existence of mature themes that will be present. Having said that, this is not a smut-based RP community. While we are sex-friendly, we don’t want this turning into a porno. Plot is always first!

PREMISE
In 2018, Thanos was supposed to come to Earth with the Infinity Stones. He was supposed to fulfill his ‘grand purpose’. But he never showed up. In fact, his entire fleet was decimated and the Infinity Stones themselves seem to be disappearing from the universe.

So, what happened?

Two months before the Battle of Wakanda, mysterious portals had begun appearing with strangers (Newcomers) from other timelines and universes coming through. After discovering this, Tony Stark was able to re-route the phenomena to only appear at the Avenger’s Facility, where he and the rest of the Avengers of this world could help the Newcomers adjust and protect them. It was only a matter of time before things started going to hell.

Eventually, the Avengers learned about Thanos and the Infinity Stones, but they discovered what happened to his fleet and that the stones were disappearing. There was no Blip (Snap), but strange things are now happening across the universe and on Earth. With every stone that disappears, things only get worse.

Newcomers who come through can’t willingly go back. Some disappear mysteriously, others are trapped in this world. Portals open to other places, people can visit other worlds, but sometimes at a cost (loss of power, or complete physical transformation). And then, there are the times the portals act up and start spitting things out.

That’s okay, though! Tony has it handled not really. And while the team still hasn’t quite figured out what’s going on, they’re determined to make it right. Several others have joined forces to help the Newcomers, including T’Challa who has officially granted them refugee status on this Earth by establishing a Wakandan Consulate in upstate New York (just don’t ask how they pulled that off). Meanwhile, Thor and Loki have settled New Asgard on the nearby coast and welcomed less adventurous Newcomers to join them there as well.

Everyone wants to get home. It’s only a matter of time before they figure this out. What else could possibly go wrong?

For centuries supernatural beings have lived among us, unseen and unheard by ordinary humans. The outcome of these findings will be used to dictate next steps and action needed.
