In the early 1980s a secret worldwide organization know as the Gardiner initiative began to work on a chemical compound to alter human genetics. Their goal? To allow humans to develop superpower abilities.
In 2008, they discovered a formula that would affect certain humans depending on their genetic structure. Once the Gardiner Initiative cut through the red tape of governments around the world they put this chemical compound into world water supplies.
As only few humans would be affected by the compound, it was the Gardiner Initiative’s intention to spread the compound as far as possible in order to generate as many meta-humans. In January 2010 stories began to surface around the world of people who could perform amazing feats such as fly, turn invisible, even read minds.
The Initiative began to round up these people. Some they deceived by offering to help them with their new found powers while others were abducted outright when they resisted. Those that have been captured so far have been brought to a prison-like building in a hidden location and put into the Gene Unit.
Here they will live and receive training to develop and learn control over their powers until the Initiative decides it time to start phase two of their training which will induct them into the world of espionage, black ops and assassination.

Where there are no last chances.
Off of Route 321 in Tennessee, in between Gatlinburg and Hartford is a small, backwater town called Heartland. Many overlook it and pay it no mind. To the great majority of America there is nothing special about this town void of even a fast food chain. Well, that’s just how they like it.
The pride and joy of Heartland is its school. Established in the early 1920’s by a inheritably wealthy and good-hearted man, Heartland Boarding School has been taking in the world’s supposed ‘lost causes’ when no other would. With the view that all kids deserve second, third, fourth, and many more chances, they offer a non-judgmental and healthy environment for kids to escape to. It was the hope of the founder that with the proper encouragement ‘troubled teens’ could go on to be ‘successful adults’, a philosophy carried on by his daughter and grandson who now over-see the school.

The war has been over for seven years. People have built families, started careers, and gotten on with their lives. It hasn't all been easy, and there have been unexpected hurdles in the way, but the generation of kids who stood up against Voldemort have become adults. For better or worse.
But not everyone is happy about the new reign of peace. There is unrest in the shadows, dissent among the Ministry, and a danger that lurks on every full moon. Life can't remain peaceful forever, and you must make a choice: stand by wait, or take another stand.
Life As You Know It is a game that focuses on the lives of Harry Potter's generation, though you are welcome to apply for any of the canon older characters for plot purposes. The game will rely heavily on character interaction, and will have a major arc that the mod will advance from time to time.
Unofficial game play began on August 9th, to give players time to settle into their characters. Official game play will begin on September 23rd, with a full moon and breakout of Azkaban. Until then, players are welcomed and expected to participate in smaller plots designed for character building and interaction. Please send questions to lifemods@gmail.com. |

In the spring of 1998 the trio were captured in Malfoy Manor where fate would dictate they escape with the assistance of Dobby the House Elf. However, fate did not go according to the plan. In the last second the elf was killed leaving the trio to the mercy of You Know Who. With Potter captured the path was clear to the Ministry and after numerous show trials, in July, the Death Eaters took over completely. It is a plot that could fit into many games, but there is one difference- it is not the Dark Lord that rules but a Dark Lady, there was not a boy who lived but a Girl Who Lived, the greatest Headmaster that lived was actually a Headmistress and it was her father’s love not her mother’s love that allowed the Girl Who Lived to survive.
Enter a world where the outcome of the war has not just been turned on its head, but every character’s gender.

 | | Welcome, to New Vegas | February 2010, the outbreak begun.
By August 2010, America belonged to the Zombies.
The Zombie Apocalypse is here and now.
America as we know it no longer exists. The Government is gone. Almost 299 million people zombified and the other million are possibly survivors. Can the world be rebuilt? Can the last remaining survivors continue to survive?
In Nevada, there is a small town now known as New Vegas where slowly, survivors are beginning to populate. 15 miles from the true Las Vegas, they hope to make something of this destroyed world. The ring leader, the man who had raised the settlement from ground up, Matt Sanders hopes to have more survivors pooling in soon, to help and join them in rebuilding their world.

Many of the buildings on the island still remain in ruins and are off-limits to both patients and staff, but all the necessities have been seen to and the island is 100% self-sustained. There is but one way on and one way off the Isle of Midian and that is by way of a ferry that runs only twice per week when the weather permits; Thursday evening and Sunday morning. The waters surrounding the island are far too tumultuous to swim though many patients have tried and failed, most of whom have been laid to rest in the massive cemetery on the island. Midian is a desolate and dreary place. By those that have been unfortunate enough to spend time here, it has been described as the loneliest place on Earth. They say that if you were sane when you arrived, you won't stay that way for long. And it is here that you have been abandoned. |
