"That's good," he told her, glad that it helped. He couldn't imagine talking to someone about what he'd done to Stephie would help with any guilt. That wasn't misplaced guilt - it was well earned and all his own to come to terms with. He still hadn't. Probably he never would. He and Stephie still weren't like they were and it was likely they never would be. He'd cost them that.
