There had been a time when Tal blamed this, all of it, on Jinx. When she had found out she was pregnant with Alice, she had wanted to terminate the pregnancy. It was only because Jinx seemed so keen on raising her that Tallulah decided that maybe being a parent wasn't too terrible of an idea after all, not if she could do it with Jinx beside her. And in the end all she'd had to show for it was a shattered heart. She didn't blame him any more though. He hadn't done anything outlandish to convince her to keep Alice. He hadn't forced some kind of change of heart, he had simply said, 'what if' and she had found maybe that 'what if' wasn't so bad after all.
"It's not your fault," she said, more firmly than she had said anything in years. "Jinx, it's not your fault."
