"Probably," Peter sighed again. "Because what is going to happen, is I am going to get the damn shot because my family needs me to, and then I honestly don't know." He would have to start facing things without his crutch and that seemed horrible.
"I'm sorry," Thomas said softly. "Peter, I am so sorry."
"I'll get through it eventually-"
"No, I mean- Peter, fuck's sake. I'm so sorry we've put so much pressure on you. That we didn't see-" Thomas teared up as he spoke, "we didn't see what it was doing to you."
Thomas crying seemed to penetrate the air of annoyance that had hung around Peter since they had arrive. "No- Thomas, no. I didn't let anyone see. It's on me, not on all of you."
