Aislinn should have been in bed, since she had school in the morning. But she couldn't sleep and so she was on her favorite witches' forum helping her friends humiliate and troll the wannabes. Dressed in a black tank top with a candy pink skull in the center and matching skully print shorts, she was laughing as quietly as she could at some comment Sophia had just made over Skype. She reached for the her soda when there was a loud boom and suddenly it felt like her brain was on fire and trying explode at the same time. She screamed loudly as she pitched away from the desk, toppling her chair and dragging her laptop down off her desk by the headphone cord.

Ais clapped her hands over her ears, tears streaming down her face as it felt like the fire was spreading throughout her body. The last noise she managed was a pained whimper before she passed out.
