Yeah, he should have really been elsewhere, cleaning up litter before it got out of hand, but this was absolutely fascinating. The man running the cup game had such skilled hands. The fact he used a foam ball inside metal cups to eliminate the sounds of rattling and bumping was effective; the ball couldn’t be tracked by its sound.
It was a good thing Ren was so visually oriented. Counting how many people lost as opposed to his knowing where the ball had ended up was fun.
A young lady who looked vaguely familiar stepped up and laid down her two dollars, watched the cups, and- wait a minute. Was it just him, or did the cup game man look at the middle cup a bit too long?
Perhaps not, because the young lady picked the middle cup and found the ball. Well now. Ren’s eyebrows lifted as he watched the man and young lady cheated together, and a small prize was won. Okay, not as admirable as it could be, but Ren could still appreciate good acting when he saw it.
When the young lady left with her prize, Ren threw a wink at the man running the game, and caught up to her. “You’re a good actress,” he said frankly and honestly.
