"You haven't seen me on a bad day either." Adrian was giggling about it, maybe in truth it wasn't that funny if Julian had really known some of things Adrian had put himself through and others for that matter, all in the name of following a leader he wasn't sure truly deserved his devotion. But, being cast from Heaven, felt stuck... and just did as he was told, as wise as time had made him, he still wasn't sure how to get out of this one."Tell me" Adrian pleaded. "You can't say something like that and not spill. What did you do? What happened?" And Adrian did smile as he tried to lighten things up. "Well, we better get to know each other quick. Hurry hurry talk talk! Tell me everything. Ask me anything." He demanded with a laugh. It was meant as a joke too.
But, with Julian's comment about feelings being annoying when they crept up on you, that was far too close to what Adrian was attempting to shove down himself for a while... an unexpected feeling. "Don't I fucking know it." He agreed, calling them, "Sneaky bastards."
Then with his last compliment, with a grin thanking him for it, "Maybe so." A little bit of his cockiness came through, but only a touch, because for once his mind really wasn't on himself. "You and your tie. You stand out. All the lights and hub bub of the Carnival when I got here and I swear, you and your crisp pressed duds..." he said patting down Julian's tie again, "...you're still not giving yourself enough credit. If nobody else isn't seeing it, they're blind. But, I have a feeling you may not be noticing when people see you... really see you."
