Julian couldn't help himself he laughed when Adrian made the remark he did, wondering if he was in some sort of surreal world where somebody was actually paying him a compliment. It wasn't that he doubted his... attractiveness, but it wasn't in the forefront of Julian's mind as it was some others in the Carnival. Some people knew there were gorgeous and flaunted it.
"Beautiful?" He repeated, eyebrow lifting. "Uh... thanks, I think." Julian had really been trying to step outside of his comfort zone as of late, trying to experience life to the absolute fullest because if he was going to grow old and die then he might as well look back on a life well lived. He still didn't much like the idea of growing old and losing the precious grip he had over his faculties, but it would seem he was fated for a mortal life. Unless he wandered about in a full moon and felt like getting nearly torn apart for the trouble of extending his life.
It was only when Adrian leaned closer that Julian felt... well, a little weirded out. Again, a direct result of not having had a lot of.... one on one attention. "You're a very strange one," he remarked with a smirk as he sat back, slipping out of Adrian's touch. "But, I think I like you. I don't like a lot of people, just so you know." He hadn't spoken to the Puck since their... God awful night out and didn't really intend to because that? That had been beyond embarrassing. Mortifying even. That and he'd spent a long walk back to the Carnival picking everything he'd said and done apart until he was thoroughly convinced he should never ever go out again.
He blinked a little as it seemed that even though he'd pulled away Adrian's touch was lingering, that much evident in the way Julian's thumb touched the area that Adrian's finger had.
