Who: Ashley Harper and Open What: Meandering down the midway When: Friday, early evening Where: The Midway Rating: Low Status: Open!
Ashley's booth was closed for the night: it was a rare night off for the displaced Brit and he had his hands in his pockets as he strolled down the midway. He shifted a little bit to avoid the people that were enjoying the loud lights and sounds of the carnival and all it had to offer. In all honesty, it never got old for Ashley. He'd been at the carnival for a few years now and the sights and sounds that it provided. His stomach kept twitching and jumping whenever he moved past the opening of Julian's stall, resisting the urge to slip inside and just hang with his... friend. Boyfriend? Whatever they were, Ashley wasn't even sure, in all honesty. He knew what he wanted but he didn't want to push Julian, didn't want to say anything that might ruin whatever tentative thing they had going.
He wet his lower lip, walked past Julian's stall and purposefully didn't go in, but he kept himself entertained by winking at the odd person here and there, striking up conversation with stragglers and keeping their attention, passing them off to shops and stalls and rides as he passed them. He felt alive, surrounded by the emotions of those around him, affected by the crowd mentality that caused his heart to race and his emotions to soar with the wonder around him.
He pushed himself away from the rides - having made himself feel a little nauseous after being on the whirl-y ride about four times in a row and headed back down the midway towards the food tent. Maybe that would make him feel a little less sick and dizzy.
