Tribal-style tattoos generally didn't do well with shading. It was all about the solid, clean lines. Shading detracted from that, in her personal opinion. So solid colors, in her mind, were always the better route to go when it came to tribal tattoos. As for Cole's design, all black would have worked nicely. But using black and grey changed things up and made it more interesting to look at. Apparently Cole though much the same thing.
"Black and grey would work just fine. Both very solid colors. Simple. Personally I think it will look very good."
She looked over the design on the paper again, already trying to estimate the length of time it would take to do and how much it would cost. "So if that's all, we can get started." It wouldn't take long to turn the design she'd been given into a stencil. And then after that, it was all needle and ink.
