WHO: Fausto and Cole WHERE: the mess tent WHEN: Early evening, halfway through the visit to Wichita WHAT: Thread Lottery! Prompts are: spilled liquid, a lottery ticket, and a rock in somebody's shoe. Will we use them all? Who knows! :D RATING: Iunno, probably low STATUS: In progress
He wasn't normally like this. So mopey and sad, and Fausto had resolved that he was going to pull himself out of this no matter what. So what if Jael didn't feel anything? So what if he had a crush on a person that couldn't like him back? He was here, wasn't he? And this place was fantastic. And the people were fantastic, here, though he'd been so isolationist lately he hadn't met too many of them. He should try to make more friends...he knew there were so many...well. Strange and fascinating creatures, to be sure, even when they wore the skins of humans. Like Toby! He was a werewolf, and Fausto would have had no idea. He was so sweet, and gentle...and he was good with the animals, and loved them. And Judas was nice, too, for an incubus...and Arkady, who treated them all like his own children. And Aden, and...and well, there were just a lot. He was pretty sure there were some new people, too, that he hadn't met yet.
Well. It just wouldn't do. He couldn't close himself off forever. So he went to the food tent, and got himself a strawberry lemonade--the weather was warm, but not sweltering this evening, and it sounded good--and pondered his options as he sipped at it slowly. He supposed he could just go around and introduce himself to everyone he hadn't met, and--
"Ow!" A sharp rock wedged itself in his foot--he was wearing flipflops--and he stumbled hard, very nearly going to the ground. Only a body stopped him, and it was as though things happened in slow motion; his drink spilled all over the man that had caught him, and he staggered a little, face going red.
"O-oh...oh my gosh! Oh shit, I'm sorry! I'm really sorry!"
Just his luck, it was someone he didn't know...and what a way to meet.
"I'm really sorry! Um...um...lemme just get some napkins!"
