"Roop hai tera sona, soni teri paayal Hoye, roop hai tera sona sona, soni teri paayal Chhan chhana chhan aise chhanke, kar de sabko ghaayal Keh raha aankhon ka kaajal, ishq mein jeena marna, yay"
Railesh wasn't walking his way down the midway so much as he was dancing it. And dancing it somewhat badly, the bag thumping his leg messing up his steps. But he was in a good mood, all things considered. Lakshmi, his female cobra, was ready to mate, and he'd put Agni up to the task. He'd called several other performers who had asked to be informed, and he'd made bargains to trade or sell the babies as soon as they hatched. It broke his heart to give the babies away, but he knew there was only a certain number of snakes he could keep before they got cranky and started trying to kill each other.
The bag at his hip banged his leg again, and he scowled down at it. The three-foot skin was stuffed in the bag, and he was delivering it to a Miss Delilah White, whom he found out was the mother of his new friend, Anastasia. He was very glad to hear that they'd been accepted in the carnival, and he'd also carefully wrapped the doll she'd given him in bright paper and ribbon so that he could return it to her when he was done with her mother.
Outside of Delilah's tent there was a tall wooden pole, and Railesh rapped his knuckles on it as way of knocking.
