"Bettleby it is. I'd trust him with just about anything, and I know he won't let anybody get fresh with my little girl, or let her go wandering into things she doesn't need to be fooling with till high school at least. Added to which, she's got no end of dress up costumes, and I'm happy to get some use out of them other than at Halloween."
Adjusting the bag hanging off her shoulder, and instinctively running her thumb over the handfasting knot wrapped around her wrist, Rayna answered his earlier question. "To get back on track, it's difficult enough some days. But he's got Theresa and her little boy to keep his heart full, and he's a fine enough piece of ass not to lack for less serious company when he wants it. Besides, he travels for work so much himself that it wouldn't really wouldn't matter if we stayed in Cali; we'd never see him anyway. It'll slow up one day, sure, and we'll go home, but for now, it's better for everybody this way; keeps us from getting down, and we always have something new to talk about. We just...love each other, I guess. Love makes it work, keeps us strong."
