"It isn't as though we have to worry about blemishes," he reminded her gently, leaning back against the dressing table directly opposite her own, regarding her. She truly was beautiful, the high bone structure, the silver-blonde hair and vivid eyes. He could see what Adair had seen in her physically, although the woman seemed so cold and unapproachable in persona.
"You aren't mistaken," he half-sighed, keeping his voice low and cordial. "I was merely inquiring how you're settling in, and how you're handling being here with Adair," he said, never one to beat much around the bush. "Have you two worked through your dissent?"
