Damien had expected a few more minutes in the trailer alone. It wasn't as though he was grateful to see Maram, especially since he did miss working along side her. His actions and body position would have been different upon greeting. Instead of feet up on her desk and leaning back in the chair with ease, Damien would have sat properly until she had entered. There were times that he stood to greet her as well. However, the woman had caught him off guard, knowing that he would have to get into the routine again sooner than later. It didn't even matter that she didn't call him out on slacking off just a little bit. The change would take a bit of time to get used to, especially at a place that Damien found strange.
Pulling down his legs from the desk a bit quickly, Damien sat up straight with a smirk of his own. One thing that they both could count on was dressing professional, which he always thought that she did far more better than him. "You know, it's okay for you to say that you missed me, Ms. Uzma. We've known each other long enough," he replied as he caught the mail with ease, shuffling through the first two. "But yes, I do feel the same way."
Even though Damien did drink Turkish coffee every now and then, it certainly wasn't his favorite. Sure, he'd drink the hot liquid with Maram on occasion and enjoying it, but he didn't used to always make it very well. Damien always figured that she was being polite all those years ago. Fortunately, he got better as time went along. "Only the best sludge for you," he answered jokingly.
Holding himself back from an eyeful of Maram's legs, Damien focused on her face as she sat at the edge of her desk. The first few days in the new environment was a different experience all together, unsure how to take it all in. "Interesting to say the least. I didn't know tha some type of species existed. And others are well, weird looking," he answered with honesty. It had taken him a few more seconds to attempt to sit up from the chair. "Forgive me. You probably want your seat back. Just keeping it warm for you."
