New Year's Eve was really just like any other day for Anahita. It marked the end of one year and moving onto another in her endless life. But humans got so excited about it. She'd never much understood the big fuss on New Year's, but she really was in no place to judge. She just went about her business as usual. And with the carnival, that meant that there would be quite a few more people coming through than usual. And quite a few more interesting tattoo choices. Though the record-breaker had to be tattoos of girlfriends' or boyfriends' names. Always ridiculous in her mind, considering that relationships could be entirely temporary. But if she couldn't talk the customers out of it, there wasn't anything to be done.
As it got closer to midnight, she'd closed up her tent so that she could go to the show in the main tent with everyone else. Lighting a cigarette, she started her walk toward the tent, making her way through the crowd. A few people bumped her in the shoulder, but she mostly ignored it. It wasn't a huge deal.
Her mind was almost on auto-pilot. At least until someone ran into her. And this person smelled profusely of alcohol. The girl was skinny as all get out, wearing a hat with a big sunflower on the band as well as a pair of ungodly snakeskin boots. "Happy New Year!" she squealed, slinging an arm around Anahita's shoulders. Oh goodness. She tried not to roll her eyes as the girl grabbed out for the next person walking by. And if Anahita recognized him correctly, it was the tutor. Well, this was quite a party.
