Her head was spinning every night with all the emotions coming in and Morgan was delighted. At all times there was something interesting to feel, whether she was baking her cupcakes and decorating them meticulously, when she sold them during carnival hours or when she woke up screaming again in the middle of the night. And even though she hadn't formed any bonds yet she felt right at home. She never received anything but the pure, undiluted emotions and couldn't put any faces to them but some of them did feel familiar so she guessed they were working here. The people attached to the emotions. She had to remind herself that she was thinking about people, not feelings.
So this morning she woke up with the idea that she should get to know her coworkers better. Most of them she had only seen passing by during work hours, the emotional overload had her sleeping pretty much every chance she had so far because it was just so much and she didn't want to miss a second of it. But today was her day and she had spent quite some time in her bathroom, applying make up and putting on her favorite comfy outfit - a red leather jacket over a pink sweater covered in zippers and safety pins, pink and white bloomers and her knee-high boots that made those nice little ringing noises whenever she walked.
Before she left her place she put a few freshly baked cupcakes in a little white basket to take along, everybody loves cupcakes and they did so much to brighten everyone's mood. Humming something that sounded like a cross between Chopin's Funeral March and Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N'Roses she skipped along the paths, letting her special gift guide her like the needle of a compass. As usual, it would lead her to someone interesting. It always did.
