Leigh shifted, looking down at the ground. As much as she didn't want to die, death had always fascinated her. What happened after? How did it feel? Her eyes lifted to his and she looked into them with a soft smirk. "And those are? Do you have anything more cryptic to tell me about my death? I have to admit, I'm kinda digging it." She gave a half laugh, though it sounded almost pained.
At his question, her head shook, another gentle movement. The shadows crept closer, one stretching up like a tendril to her hand. "No. But...I'm afraid. Afraid of what it means. People who live in the darkness..." She let the shadow cover her hand before she closed it. "Die in the darkness." Opening her hand, the shadow flew away, a credible imitation of a black bird.
