It was like the sun coming out from behind a cloud, or an ominous storm suddenly clearing; the smile that bloomed on Judas's face was wide, and white, and dazzling.
"Thank you, Adair!" Impulsively, the incubus framed the vampiress's face and kissed her square on the mouth. He flushed, and then grinned as he pulled away, eyes dancing.
"I'm gonna go tell my girl! Thanks, Sis, you have no idea how much it means to me..." And then he was away, running through the carnival. He'd let Ruby out tonight, and he knew she'd be happy...hell, he was happy. He'd leave a window open, so she could get back in when she chose. She was clever enough to get through them, and big enough, too...
He was also running, in part, because he didn't want Adair to get mad at him. Even though if she was, she could catch up to him faster than thought, and he knew that...but he couldn't have stopped himself! He was just...too happy.
