He did like Adair, even if--in his heart of hearts--she made him a bit nervous. He knew she could kill him with one idle sweep of her hand, if she so chose...and maybe that was part of the thrill.
"See, Ruby's gettin' restless bein' all cooped up in the trailer, and the piddly-ass mice I've been feeding her aren't really something she appreciates. And I know I used her in my show last night, but she's still hungry...what I was wonderin' is if it'd be okay for me to just...kinda...let her out?"
His eyes got large, pleading, as he looked at the woman. "Please? You know she's brilliant and tame, she'd never bite a soul that wasn't a rat or rabbit or some other furry something. And it might add a bit more allure--not that this place needs it--to have a big-ass albino python roaming around..."
