Thursday, Thursday, Thursday...it was a hot pink post-it note in the design of her calendar. She always filled in her schedule ahead of time when it came to what she was doing on what days at the carnival. Thursday was a "double shift." The animal show and then her appearance in the burlesque tent. But it didn't faze her any. Regardless of what she had to do later in the day, she didn't hesitate to sleep in. Tired? That was something Jessa almost never was. What with the impromptu cat naps and the natural tendency to relax and laze about much like a kitty cat. That morning she'd risen before noon, amazingly. And after a nice long shower and a bit of time getting her hair to cooperate, she got dressed in something casual and simple. Most girls didn't wear such short hemlines all the time, but Jessa saw no problem with it. She had the long legs, so why not compliment them with what she wore? It wasn't as if she carried herself in such a way that people would find her outfits in bad taste anyway.
Going through her checklist for the day, she factored in that she needed to do a little cleaning. And her costume for that evening needed to be picked up from the costume trailer. She'd bought the costume herself, actually, but she was mostly all thumbs when it came to a needle and thread. So when she'd found a rip in the seam on her costume, she hadn't wanted to botch it herself. So away to the experts it went.
The cleaning got done quickly enough, but then came that telltale need for food. Jessa didn't have much in her fridge, so she didn't hesitate to slip into a pair of wedge sandals and make her way over to the food tent. Indecisiveness was not at all helpful as she tried to pick something to eat. Though she ended up settling on pastries. They looked delicious, and her sweet tooth couldn't be ignored. Going to find somewhere to sit, there seemed to be quite a few people who looked content to be sitting alone. And she didn't really feel up to sitting by herself.
And that's when she spotted the hottest shade of hot pink she'd seen in a long time. Even better still was the bright red shade of the hair belonging to the person in the pink tee. She only knew one person with such a vibrant hair color and that was Babylon. Jessa went over, a friendly sort of smile on her lips with every step. "Hey," she said once she was close enough. "This seat taken?"
