Lucy hated herself for thinking all of these things, but they were things that she'd always wanted to feel. She loved the Carnival for giving her a home and taking her in when she needed them the most, but sometimes, Lucy needed something more.
Lucy looked over at him for a few moments, considering him, before answering. "When I was a kid, I used to just watch the other kids when they were outside playing and I never wanted to join in. I think I was a bit of an anthropologist when I was little," she told him quietly, laughing a little. She never spoke about this. "I've always wanted to do that."
