Ryan nodded. She was exactly right. The carnival had somehow before the perfect haven for supernatural beings, and they all seemed to find it one way or another. In Ryan’s case, it had found him.
After Jessa had invited him to see her show, there was no way he was going to say no in favor of going back to work. But he didn’t answer right away. Instead he stopped walking and pretended to weigh his options carefully, just like she had earlier when he asked if he could join her in walking around. Ryan even added a head tilt and a chin scratch, but then dropped the act and broke into a grin. “Like I could say no.” He had seen the burlesque show before, but it had been a while and Jessa hadn’t been in it at the time.
