No. No nibbling, but a smile. Nothing could touch Babylon so long as he could smile, and he had managed it even in the face of being bashed. He had grinned fiercely, even barked a laugh laced with pain once. It had scared the crap out of his attacker. Made him hate Aidan more for that fear, but at least the guy had stopped hitting him and ran off cursing at him still. Stupid, because the crazed john might as well have stabbed him or broken his neck, but there you had it. He counted that as a win. And, damn, but being with Craig got him thinking serious thoughts. Tragic, even. Perhaps it should have been a sign.
Comfortable? "I'm dandy," he replied with as much flair as one can muster hanging from someone's back. A little later he was saying, "That's the one." He was flattered at how careful and considerate Craig was. This was definitely not the kind of guy he usually hung out with. He smiled warmly at him as he said his goodbyes. "You mean sunrise. And it was perfect." Do I distract you that much? He hoped the answer to that would be yes. And there he was, dreaming again. "Thank you for the company." His face lit up. "And the ride home."
Oh, honey, haven't you figured yet you can see me whenever your sweet little heart desires? He wisely didn't say that, and had the sense to hope gargoyles couldn't read minds. He'd have to ask about that. He took a calming breath before replying, wanting to invite him in but not daring to. How funny. How ridic. A shy hooker. He mentally scoffed at himself.
"See you soon. I'll make us tea next time." Having said that without thinking, he got a squinty expression on his face. "Well, I'll have to get tea. And a teapot." He shook his head, shook himself off and smiled at Craig again. "Whatever. Do you like tea?" It was a flimsy excuse to keep Craig there for just a minute more. Just another moment of being treated like a person.
