Maybe it was the element of surprise. Aidan had not been expecting those words to come from Craig's mouth, certainly not in such a charming manner. Or maybe it was the sincerity of them. At least Babylon could not detect any signs of lying behind them, only genuine surprise. Craig did seem to have trouble with modern idioms, and was a bit literal at times. Babylon liked to make himself out to be jaded and cynical, and he could be around the average joe. Judging by the blush that came over his cheeks and kept deepening until he was pink everywhere above his sternum, he had no such defenses against this man out of time.
And the handsome gargoyle man kept going, being all sweet and chivalrous. Chivalrous? To one such as he? So maybe he went a little weak at the knees. He dipped his head to hide his face behind thick hair and compose himself. When he looked up again, his blush was fading somewhat, and he was smiling. "You're too much, my sweet man." Babylon started grinning again once Craig accepted his protection.
Babylon managed to suppress a gasp when he saw those huge wings disappear into Craig's back. If he had thought turning his stone skin to flesh before had been impressive, he was positively done in now. The offer of a piggyback ride made him do a double take. His eyes lit up with pure childish glee. He hadn't had one of those since he was little enough for his mother to carry him. Suddenly he felt a stab of sadness. He missed her dearly. But Babs was nothing if not resilient. Bouncing back had become a survival skill, as were his jokes. "Oh, is that how it is?" He almost teased Craig about starting the Gargoyle Express for beautiful people everywhere, but decided it might be too soon. He stepped up and kissed Craig's cheek instead. "All that trouble to call me pretty, hm?"
He walked around him and touched his back where the wings had been. "Does it... hurt when you do that? When you change?" he asked, voice full of wonder. He eyed the wide expanse of back, the pleasing taper of it down to Craig's tight waist and the shapely rump discernible under the towel and chided himself to think pure thoughts. Be nice. He likes you. You can seduce anyone you want, leave this one alone. Don't scare him off. It seemed Aidan did already talk to himself, just not out loud. But, did he listen? Time would tell.
He would then climb aboard, giggling like a little kid, and direct Craig towards his trailer. He just hoped he could remember where it was this time. They didn't always get the exact same spot in every town. He hooked his arms around Craig's neck and tossed his head back so that his hair wouldn't just hang down over the man's naked shoulders like a coat, which it did anyway. Aidan didn't know what he had been expecting, but Craig felt just like warm flesh to him. His succubus nature let him sense the man's energy somehow, now that he was pressed against him, and he felt fiery and vital. That ancient magic that animated him felt like something Aidan could feed off, which was scary and brought a lot more questions. So far he'd only fed on humans, that he knew of. What if it worked different with Craig? What if he could literally fuck him to death, like the legends? Of course, according to the legends Babylon should be a demonic creature who lived for the destruction of virtue, whatever that was, but he didn't dare risk it.
The ride would hopefully be uneventful, although they might have gotten a few looks, if mainly for looking this happy this early in the day. By the time Aidan spotted his trailer, he was fairly infatuated with Craig's scent. Babylon's skin smell would be as androgynous as the rest of him. He had often been asked what perfume he was wearing when he wore none at all, and called the scent sweet and like vanilla, but not. Although it was just as likely that after a night of gyrations under the stage lights the smell on him right now would be of sweat. To be fair, he had washed up after the show, but not showered. "That's me over there. Third on the left. Where's yours?"
