Practice made perfect. Mary hadn't become as good as she was because she had natural talent. Perhaps she had raw talent, but without constant practice she knew she would lose it. Which was the reason she was on her little stage way before show time in significantly less then she usually wore out in public. Still, it wasn't like she was going out really, she was practicing and she needed to be able to move freely. A crop-top in blue spandex that showed off a fairly well defined torso and blank leggings and her portable stereo for musical atmosphere was all she needed.
Of course some motivation would of helped too. She knew she needed the practice. But with Judas feeling so horrible she wasn't sure she could focus on dancing and going through her routine. But she tried. The music was switched on, a simple mix of musicals with amazing dance numbers started and she decided to stretch out first before attempting anything. She may of been short, but that didn't mean she wasn't a woman, far from it, as much as she complained about not being tall and leggy she had curves and she knew how to move them. Not in any way as provocative as those girls at the Burlesque show but in the way a dancer did, beautiful, flawless.
When her mind wasn't on the pain her friend was suffering, anyway. Using the music, she tried to relax, ease herself in that trance she got when she was in front of an audience. Mary didn't like being the center of attention when she wasn't on stage. When she was out and about she wanted to be over looked. On stage, she was safe. She could do and say what she liked and risk no attack especially here, at this carnival no one dared step outside the boundaries set, and if they did, well they were quickly dealt with.
It worked for awhile, singing along with the song playing, "Forget about the Boy" of all things she felt herself slip into that zone of complete unawareness and she was able to think about just moving and dancing and having fun with it rather then all the drama of late.
