It was an uncommonly bright and cloudless day as they got ready to clear out the performance building. Matt wasn't really happy about that, rain might have muffled the sounds they were making a little bit. Still, the bright sunlight seemed to confuse the Geeks, so there was that. They all had silenced weapons, just in case. They were hoping to have small enough groups most of them could impale themselves on the trap they set and be picked off before the could alert the Deaders on the street below.
At least that was the plan. Matt was pretty much a devotee of the school of 'Plans survive until first contact with the enemy'. Which meant he was ready for this to go south from the word go.
They'd moved the car blocking the main doors, which had brought a group of them to the glass doors and windows, pounding and grunting and drooling. Oh goody... Once the spear trap was in place, he signaled Bo and the cop. along with three or four other of the biggest guys so they could get the damned doors shut again and make sure none of the fuckers turned around and tried to eat anybody. Then back at the women behind the spears. Further up on the steps, the she cop and one of the little black girls were covering them with silenced rifles.
"Here goes nothing," he muttered as he started unwrapping the chain that held the door shut. Once it it was free, he grunted as the doors literally tried to fly open as a group of Geeks poured out, funneled towards their trap by the doors themselves. He shoved with all of his might, pushing them closed and hoping the Geeks were too intent on the bait on the other side of the pointy things.
