The trip to the Walgreens on Jackson street had been pretty quiet. It'd taken them less than an hour to pick their way over there. No real big hills, not many Geeks. The large tree lined park between Rainier Avenue and 23rd street had given them a pretty Dead free run. There were more of them as they got closer to the Promenade. There was very little cover at the intersection of 23rd and Jackson, but they managed to sneak around the far side of the mini mall across the street without drawing the attention of the mass of Geeks milling around the Red Apple's parking lot closer to the store.
The Starbucks next to the Walgreens was silent, the huge clock on it's front stuck at 4:18, when the shelling had started. There were a few easily dispatched Geeks milling in between the two buildings.
Fortunately, the power to the doors was long dead, so that meant it was harder for the Geeks to get in through the broken glass. The Pharmacy was on the northeast corner, behind probably a locked door. Matt signaled for Maddie to cover him as he ducked through the empty metal frame.
The place was badly picked over, at least supply wise. Matt pulled his ka bar and moved carefully through the rows. So far, nothing. He got to the pharmacy door and saw it'd been broken into. Shit. Well, they could still look. He kicked open the door, in case there was a Geek just behind it. There was no moan or crunch so, he backed out to where Maddie and Bo were securing the rest of the store and inclined his head towards the back. Here was hoping there was anything useful left.
