Jumping slightly at the loud exclamation, Jace gave his own chuckle – a nervous, high sound – before listening to what Tak had to say. He nodded to show that he was hearing the other boy correctly, though he was processing what was being said at a much slower pace. He knew what Tak had needed time for and he had encouraged it, despite the little slip ups they had both made since agreeing to hit the brakes, figuring that everything would be a lot easier once Tak was completely sure about what he wanted. But here he was, claiming to have finally worked things out, which meant...
"You don't have to say sorry, and you're not stupid," Jace said, waving a dismissive hand. "You needed time and I sort of expected you to need longer than this. Not that I'm disappointed that you've decided! But, you know..." Trailing off, the younger teen brought a hand up and rubbed awkwardly at the back of his neck, eyes averting from the blond for the briefest of moments as he worked out what was being said.
Shaking his head, Jace found himself smiling. "So if you don't want to take a break any more," he continued slowly. "I guess you've worked everything out? Are you sure?"
