In which Sebastian has a bonfire
Who: Sebastian and EVERYONE ELSE AT DALTON (except teachers)
What: There's going to be a bonfire in the woods behind the school, so Sebastian can burn his shirts. Also, an excuse to get drunk and melt stuff. I wasn't sure if anyone wanted to play anything during this time, so here it is if you're interested.
Where: The woods behind Dalton
When: Friday night, October 5
Rating: SFW for the start, at least.
After a pre-burning party with Perrin, Sebastian gathered up Gabriel Holden and headed out to the Dalton woods. He knew he hadn't wanted to keep an eye on the fire himself, so he asked around. Everyone seemed to say the same thing. Gabe Holden was always the guy tending the fire at past bonfires, and he also didn't drink, so the woods probably wouldn't burn down. Gabe had seemed surprised when Sebastian asked if he'd keep an eye on the fire, then suspicious, but he had ultimately agreed. That was all Sebastian cared about.
"I want it big," Sebastian told Gabriel, frowning at the tiny little flame Gabe had started in the fire pit.
Gabriel glanced at Sebastian through long blond bangs, annoyance creasing his forehead. "Even the biggest giant starts as a baby," he informed the other boy. "This one will grow, if it's not smothered."
Sebastian rolled his eyes and kicked his foot against the fallen tree he was sitting on, watching Gabe tend to the fire with what could only be described as loving care. He seemed to know what he was doing, too, watching the flames intently, adding a twig here, a branch there, slowly building the fire into a proper size. "How'd you get so good with fire anyway?"
"Practice," was Gabe's monotonous answer, not even looking up at Sebastian this time. "How do you get good with anything?"
"Ever burned anything big, like a house or something?" Sebastian asked, grinning at the thought of Gabe setting someone's kitchen on fire.
"No. That would be bad." Gabriel was still intent on the fire.
"You know, last year, I paid for a lawyer when Scotty's parents' house--"
Gabe did look up at Sebastian now, his face unreadable across the flames. "That was bad." He paused. "As were they." His contribution to the conversation over, the blond turned back to the fire.
Sebastian hesitated. He'd always thought Harris had set the fire. It seemed like such a Harris thing to do. He hadn't even questioned it at the time, but... "Where were you, that night?"
Blue eyes turned his way again. "I was with Harris. We spent the evening together."
"You two weren't fucking..."
"There are other ways to pass an evening."
Sebastian wasn't sure what else he could say to that. He'd have to ask Harris next time they were alone what really happened. For now, all he could do was hope someone else showed up soon, so it wasn't just him and Gabe sitting here with the booze.
