6PM
Raf wasn't known for his brilliant ideas and going out drinking on the Saturday before auditions was up there with the best of his fails. On the plus side, he'd had enough foresight to schedule his audition on the Monday, just in case, and by the time his audition time rolled around he was feeling much better and raring to go. Monday was one of his less busy days so he'd been able to head back to his room after class and run over his lines again. He knew his audition backwards but it never hurt to go over it one more time.
He'd been excited when he heard what the production would be, although he had spent a bit of time trying to decide which character to go for. Dakin and Posner both seemed like great roles and he'd been contemplating trying out for both, but when Evan told him he was going to go for Dakin, Raf's decision had been made. He didn't want to go up against his best friend for a role, and Evan would kill the part anyway. Besides, it'd be fun to go for a role that was a bit different to his usual.
When he heard his name called, Raf lifted his head high and trotted out to the middle of the stage. "Hi guys. I'm Raphael Nelson and I'll be reading for Posner."
When he got the nod that everyone was ready, he paused, giving himself a minute to gather himself. It was surprisingly easy to slip into character and from the moment he opened his mouth, he knew he was on fire. He finished on an equally strong note and gave the teachers a genuine grin before he turned to head off stage. It felt so good to be up on stage again, he just about got shivers from thinking about it and Raf couldn't help giving a little hop skip as he got backstage.
