Re: Saturday: 11:10
Devin would've picked the earliest slot, had it not already been taken by someone else. He settled on the next earliest and got there a few minutes early. Devin needed something to do with his time at Dalton. He couldn't waste his days doing the same thing over and over again, and he figured that joining the Warblers would keep him busy. Adding it to his college applications wouldn't hurt either.
He held his guitar in his hand, stepping on the stage when the clock hand turned to 11:10. "Hello, my name is Devin Thompson," he greeted, offering a small smile before holding his guitar in the correct position. "I'll be singing Disturbia by Rihanna." After taking a few deep breathes, he started his song with a strum of the guitar.
"No more gas in the rig, can't even get it started, nothing heard, nothing said, can't even speak about it," Devin sang, slowing the song down and really focusing on the acoustics and words. "All my life, in my head, can't even think about it. Feels like I'm going insane..." He continued the song, eyes on the Warblers in the auditorium. Eye contact was important.
"Put on your brake light, we're in the city of wonder, ain't gonna play nice, watch out, you might just go under. Better think twice, your train of thought will be altered, so if you must falter, be wise." He tried not to let his mind wander. Devin already had so much on his plate, especially with Rose, but this was for him and him only. It was his time to shine.
"Your mind's in disturbia, it's like the darkness in the light. Disturbia, am I scaring you tonight? Disturbia, ain't used to what you like, disturbia, disturbia..." He continued to strum the guitar, singing along to the rest of the song before slowing down even more before ending the song. "Bum bum be-dum, bum bum be-dum bum, bum bum be-dum, bum bum be-dum bum."
Devin nodded his head to signal that he was done with his song. "Thank you for your time," he said before becoming silent so the Warblers could voice their opinions.
