Re: Saturday: 1:30
When Tony walked out onto the stage, Caleb sat up a little straighter in his seat. Before his friend even caught his eye, he found himself smiling. Although he had yet to hear the other boy sing, he had a good feeling about the audition. Such positivity only increased when Tony glanced over at him, and Caleb gave him a subtle thumbs up and a careful smile before the first notes began to fill the auditorium.
As expected, Tony didn't let him or anyone else down. His voice was amazing and Caleb couldn't help but notice the lack of accent. He found himself nodding slightly as the song progressed, the smile firmly fixed on his face. It didn't waver as the other boy finished, and he held his tongue for a few moments in order to give the others chance to voice their opinions. Once there was a gap in conversation, he eagerly leaped at the chance to fill the silence.
"That was awesome, bro," he said encouragingly, his smile pulling into an appreciative grin. "Thanks for sharing what seems to be a really personal song with the rest of us." Because how could he have missed the answer to Sebastian's question? But now he needed to ask one of his own. Taking care to speak a little slower (though not in a patronising fashion), Caleb asked: "Have you ever sung with a group before? Or with a partner? It can be pretty different than singing solo and it can be pretty daunting too."
