Mid-afternoon on September 13th, the DMLE team lead by Aurors PERRY DERRICK and SUSAN BONES executed an operation to catch a notorious art thief team.
During the operation at the Warehouse on Dionysus Lane, the team faced a complication when attempting to apprehend the suspects. It's said the team fought back and dropped an unknown potion. An explosion took place a little after 15:00 blowing out a side of the warehouse where a private art function was set to take place that evening. Needless to say, the event has been cancelled.
Aurors managed to successfully apprehend TRENTON BAMBAR, but partner ELLE SPINNET was killed during the blast. The only other significant injury was to an Auror nearby who is recovering; no one else was seriously injured.
Eyewitnesses to the event claim they saw chaser ALICIA SPINNET on site and witnessed the last words of her older sister.
"I've never seen anything like it, they sort of locked eyes, Elle was clearly about to die, and she just glared at her sister. If looks could kill that chaser girl would dead, anyways, her last words were "I should have killed you" to her sister, and she died, gone. I didn't see what the chaser did because I got shooed away, but there is clearly more to the story." Local shop owner NOELLE SMYTHE told Cuaditch Daily News.
The DMLE has yet to release an official statement.
The organizers of the event have stated they are going to reschedule their showing but not in Cuaditch Town.
