It’d been a busy few days and Charlie was enjoying a nice walk around town. It was always a good way to clear her head and the inventing room she had in the flat she shared with Tracey was feeling a little bit crowded. Grinning as she watched a kid play with their new puppy and a young couple walk hand and hand she wondered for just a second what that would feel like.
Pushing those thoughts from her mind she started to let her mind focus on what she was trying to do with the speaker and mini-fridge muggle contraption and how she was going to make her idea work. She was biting her lower lip when she rounded the corner and came face to face with OPEN.
“Hi!” She greeted happily leaning forward giving them a kiss on the cheek. “For luck!” Why she was wishing them luck she wasn’t completely sure but it worked!
Mondays were usually a busy day for Alana, having to deal with whatever stunts her players have done during the weekend, but that Monday had been strangely quiet. She wasn’t sure if she liked it or not, if she was honest. She had to admit she liked to be busy. It kept her mind off other things she might not want to think about.
She was about to grab her phone as she was rounding the corner and felt someone kissing her on the cheek. “Oh!... Thank you!,” she exclaimed, a little taken aback but smiled at the Montgomery twin -- she could never tell which one was it.
“Don’t mention it!” Charlie grinned, she didn’t normally kiss people on the cheek she didn’t know all that well, people she was close to, well that was a normal every day thing with those she was close to. Well, mostly just the boys, Tracey and Hannah.
“Seems like with the season coming up, you PR folks will need all the luck you can get!” Charlie was at least quick on her feet.
Alana rolled her eyes as she laughed. “Don’t make me think about it,” she chuckled. “Photoshoots, parties, fights... And it just doubles when the season starts.” But she loved her job, don’t get her wrong. She loved dealing with the public aspect of Quidditch.
“Fights?” Charlie asked tilting her head. “Whose getting into a fight now?” Sure, she’d read about and seen a number of them but she was always curious who was being somewhat of an idiot this time.
“Oh, no one right now... At least that I know of, but you know Quidditch players and their egos,” she said with a bit of a roll of her eyes. “They can be worse than little kids fighting over a brand new toy sometimes,” she chuckled. “How’s life treating you?”
Charlie laughed. “Tell me about it! I live with one, but Tracey is one of the good ones,” she grinned. Charlie also spent a lot of time with Miles Bletchley and Adrian Pucey so she had her fair share of knowledge about Quidditch players. Shrugging she thought for a moment about her life. “Can’t complain, looking forward to the season starting and some of the parties around it. They’re always so much fun!”
Tracey Davis and parties? This one had to be Charlie. She knew Isobel was a Healer and not much into parties. “Tracey is a good one, yes,” she agreed. “But I have to admit I don’t envy the Falcons PR,” she said with a small laugh.
Charlie laughed nodded. "Could you imagine trying to keep them in line all the time? Or all the messes to clean up?" She shrugged. "Yeah, not a job I would envy."
“I almost applied for a job there, you know? I don’t know what I was thinking,” she admitted with a chuckle, shaking her head. “Kenmares are much easier to handle, even if McLaggen gives me headaches sometimes.”
“Probably that there are a lot of very attractive people on that team?” She teased. “All complicated.” She added. Laughing she nodded. “If McLaggen didn’t play keeper I imagine he would be on the Falcons, given his personality.”
“There are a lot of very attractive people, yes. Can’t deny that,” she laughed. “Attractive and complicated is one of the worst combinations,” she added. “Could be a possibility, yeah,” she smiled. “But I’m glad he’s with the Kenmares, even if he’s a pain sometimes.”
“Don’t forget combustible tempers..” Charlie teased. It did seem a number of the Quidditch players out there were quick to tempers. Charlie half wondered if it was part of the makeup of Quidditch players. Especially the men.
“I think that comes with the insanely huge egos some have,” she laughed. “Sometimes I wonder how they can fit that head through a doorway,” she joked.
“Probably shrinking spells,” Charlie nodded as if that was completely logical. “Well, I better let you go! But it was good running into you!”
That made Alana laugh. “Probably,” she nodded. “Same! And thanks for the good luck kiss,” she said with a smile.
